About Elliot Gerson

As Executive Vice President of Policy and Public Programs and International Partners at the Aspen Institute, Elliot Gerson holds broad oversight for the noted think tank’s domestic and foreign policy initiatives and programs, as well as relationships with institutions overseas. A leader at the Aspen Institute since 2004, Mr. Gerson heads the organization’s efforts to inspire public policy change in the U.S. and internationally, implementing programs that address issues in neutral and nonpartisan settings. To this end, he and his colleagues at the Institute reach out to influential diverse figures in government, business, academia, and the arts to come to the Institute to share ideas and find common ground on solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. With nearly 30 public policy programs in effect, along with the popular Aspen Ideas Festival, much of the Aspen Institute’s work continues to evolve its scope and expand its reach under Elliot Gerson’s stewardship.

Aside from his work at the Institute, Elliot Gerson serves as American Secretary to the Rhodes Trust, where he has spent the past 15 years promoting and administering the Rhodes Scholarship in the United States, choosing 32 winners annually. Noted for his speaking and writing as well, Mr. Gerson has contributed articles on various topics to such publications as The Huffington Post, The Washington Post, and The Atlantic, where he recently explored the merits of a higher minimum wage in the United States.
